San Angelo River Fest set for Sept. 19 with music, sports and family activities

The San Angelo River Fest will return Saturday, Sept. 19, with a full day of live entertainment, youth activities, athletic competitions and community events along the Concho River.

The festival is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will feature food and craft vendors, a car show, sports tournaments and free performances at the RiverStage.

The Shannon Kids Zone will operate from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. A $5 wristband will provide access to a petting zoo, pony and horse rides, inflatables and games. A splash bash is scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Sporting events will include the River Fest Classic 8-and-under baseball tournament at the Texas Bank Sports Complex, a washer-pitching tournament, recreational flag football, three-on-three basketball and a pickleball tournament.

Other attractions include the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts Family Day, Music Under the Chadbourne Bridge and Clash on the Concho at the downtown skatepark.

The RiverStage program, hosted by the 94.7 KIXY crew, will include performances by area cheerleading groups and mariachi musicians from noon to 3:30 p.m. The schedule also includes the DTSA Mermaid Pageant at 4 p.m., One Voice, One Church at 6 p.m. and Cupid, known as “The Line Dance King,” at 8 p.m.

Food and craft vendors will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
