Concho Valley Archaeology Fair Set for Sept. 19 at Fort Concho

Families, history enthusiasts and aspiring archaeologists will have the opportunity to explore the region’s past during the Concho Valley Archaeology Fair on Sept. 19 at Fort Concho.

Hosted by the Concho Valley Archaeological Society, the free event will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Barracks 6 at Fort Concho and is open to the public.

Organizers say the fair will feature hands-on activities designed for all ages, allowing visitors to learn about archaeology and the history of the Concho Valley through interactive exhibits and demonstrations.

Children will also have the opportunity to participate in archery activities as part of the day’s programming.

The event is intended to highlight archaeological research, artifact preservation and the importance of understanding the cultural heritage of West Texas and the surrounding region.

The Concho Valley Archaeological Society encourages residents and visitors alike to attend and learn more about the area’s rich history through engaging educational experiences.
