Historic Magnolia Hotel Offers Glimpse Into Seguin’s Past

A landmark that once served as the center of travel and commerce in Seguin is drawing new attention as a unique lodging destination.

The Historic Magnolia Hotel, located at 203 S. Crockett St. in downtown Seguin, traces its roots to 1850, when it was known as the “Queen of Seguin.” According to hotel owner Erin Wallace Ghedi, the property once operated as a stagecoach stop, tavern, restaurant and 10-room hotel, serving travelers and local residents alike.

Today, the restored property offers guests a two-bedroom suite with exclusive access to the building’s entire second floor and balcony, providing a private stay in one of Texas’ oldest historic hotels.

The Magnolia Hotel promotes its Victorian-era charm, Southern hospitality and historic atmosphere, with amenities that include ghost tours and guided day tours highlighting the property’s rich past.

Located in Seguin’s Historic Downtown District, the hotel has become a destination for visitors interested in Texas history, architecture and reported paranormal activity. The building’s long history and preservation efforts have helped make it one of the city’s most recognizable historic structures.

The hotel is available for overnight stays through Airbnb and other booking platforms, offering guests the opportunity to experience a piece of Texas history firsthand.
