On The River Restaurant will celebrate the grand opening of its newly renovated Boardwalk at On The River on July 11, marking the latest chapter for a local dining destination that has served the Brazosport area for nearly four decades.
The restaurant, located at 919 W. Second St. in Freeport, announced the event this week, inviting residents from across Brazoria County and beyond to visit the updated waterfront venue for lunch, dinner and live entertainment.
Country artist Cole Degges is scheduled to perform from 7 to 10 p.m. Organizers also plan to introduce a new “Late Night Bites” menu beginning at 8 p.m.
“We are finishing up renovations at On The River and are pleased to announce our Grand Opening of ‘The Boardwalk @ On the River,’” the restaurant said in its announcement.
The family-style restaurant is known for its extensive menu and waterfront atmosphere along the Freeport riverfront.
Restaurant officials said the event is intended both as a celebration of the renovated boardwalk and as a thank-you to customers who have supported the business throughout its nearly 40-year history.
Guests can expect live music, food and drinks throughout the evening as the restaurant officially unveils its updated boardwalk space.
