Texas Game Wardens to attend Victoria College Spring Career Fair

The Texas Game Wardens are set to participate in the Victoria College Spring Career Fair on Wednesday, April 22, offering prospective applicants an opportunity to learn about careers in conservation law enforcement.

The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Victoria College. Attendees will have the chance to meet field wardens and K9 teams, ask questions about the profession and gain insight into the responsibilities and training required to become a game warden.

According to recruitment materials, applicants must be United States citizens, at least 21 years old and hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.

Salary information provided by the agency lists a starting pay of $51,255 for cadet trainees under the standard pay scale, with increases tied to years of service. An expanded enforcement program, which includes a 50-hour workweek, offers higher starting and long-term pay, reaching up to $134,866 after 20 years of service.

Officials encourage those interested in working outdoors and in public safety roles to attend the event and explore career opportunities with Texas Parks and Wildlife’s law enforcement division.
