State Rep. James Talarico drew an unexpectedly large crowd in Wichita Falls this week, a city that has not voted for a Democrat in nearly four decades. Supporters packed into a local auditorium, holding signs and cheering as Talarico spoke about public education, economic fairness, and what he described as a need for “new leadership that puts working families first.”
Photos from the event show a standing-room crowd, with attendees holding signs reading “Kids and Teachers Over Billionaires” and “Talarico.” The turnout appeared to exceed expectations for a Democratic candidate in a historically Republican area.
