The swimming pool at Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site is reopening to the public on Wednesday, July 2, after being closed for more than a year due to major infrastructure repairs.
Park officials confirmed the long-anticipated reopening will follow the completion of significant upgrades to plumbing, lighting, accessibility, and the pool surface. The Olympic-size pool had been closed since summer 2024 after a major leak and additional issues were discovered.
Once open, the pool will operate Wednesday through Sunday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. for the remainder of the summer season. The schedule is subject to change based on staffing or operational needs.
The pool is located within the state park’s day-use area and has long served as a popular summer destination for families in the Hill Country. Its reopening follows extensive renovations aimed at preserving the pool’s historic character while improving safety and functionality.
Visitors are encouraged to arrive early on peak days and check for any schedule updates as the season progresses.
