Tumble 22 Opens in San Marcos with Grand Opening Celebration Set for June 28

Tumble 22, the Austin-born hot chicken restaurant known for its bold flavors and Texas hospitality, opened its newest location Monday at 1104 Thorpe Lane in San Marcos. The restaurant sits at the corner of Hawkins and Thorpe, directly across from H-E-B.

To mark the opening, Tumble 22 will host a Grand Opening celebration on Saturday, June 28. The first 100 guests that day will receive one free O.G. chicken sandwich per month for a year. The event will also feature giveaways, cold drinks, and a chance to experience the restaurant’s signature dishes and lively atmosphere.

Founded as a food trailer in Austin, Tumble 22 has grown into a regional favorite, offering hand-breaded, all-natural chicken seasoned and “tumbled” 22 times for extra crunch. The San Marcos location features indoor and patio seating, a full bar with craft cocktails—including the signature “Big Larry” margarita—and a menu that includes bone-in chicken, mac and cheese, deviled eggs, fresh salads, milkshakes, and rotating monthly sandwich specials.

“We are excited to bring Tumble 22 to San Marcos and introduce even more people to our bold, Texas-style chicken,” said Doug Thompson, CEO and Investor Partner at Tumble 22. “Whether you’re here to catch a game or just grab a drink with friends, we want you to feel the energy and hospitality that define us.”

The company also operates a 1% give-back program to support the local communities where it does business.
