Historian and author Larry Francell will lead a discussion exploring the myths and realities of the Davis Mountains at the Jeff Davis County Library on April 5 at 3 p.m. The event, titled West Texas History: Fact and Fiction, will bring together Francell and first-time author Jason Stone for an engaging conversation about historical narratives in the region.
Liz Rogers, an attorney known for her legal advocacy and media appearances, will moderate the forum. Rogers, who has been featured in Texas Monthly, Texas Highways, and various documentary projects, is recognized for her work in legal defense and storytelling across Texas. She also co-starred in Ten in Texas, which premiered at the Paramount Theatre in Austin in 2023.
Francell, the author of My Summer Vacation: The Victorio Campaign Journal of Robert Grierson – 1880, will share insights into West Texas history. Stone will introduce his book, Beauty of Days Gone By.
The forum is free to attend, and light refreshments, sponsored by Friends of the Library, will be available.
