Bishop’s Palace Basement to Attic Tours Offer Rare Access to National Historic Landmark

The Galveston Historical Foundation is offering exclusive Basement to Attic Tours of the 1892 Bishop’s Palace, giving visitors a behind-the-scenes look at areas not included in the regular self-guided tour. The tours will take place on Saturday, March 22, and Saturday, March 29, at 11 a.m.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore Mrs. Gresham’s studio and enjoy a rare third-floor view overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Built for railroad magnate Walter Gresham and designed by Victorian-era architect Nicholas Clayton, Bishop’s Palace is recognized as one of the finest examples of Gilded Age architecture and is a National Historic Landmark.
