The Corpus Christi Police Department (CCPD) announced that Officer Daniel Verduzco has been arrested by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as part of an ongoing federal investigation.
Verduzco was taken into custody on Sunday, January 19, 2025, and charged with coercion and enticement under U.S. Code 18 § 2422. DHS is leading the investigation, and CCPD has stated it is fully cooperating with federal authorities.
Pending the outcome of the investigation, Verduzco has been placed on administrative leave. CCPD has also launched an internal investigation, which could result in disciplinary actions, including termination.
