Fort Davis’ Indian Lodge Reopens with Cielo Trio Concert, Showcasing Renovations

Located in the heart of Davis Mountains State Park, Fort Davis’ Indian Lodge is set to welcome the public back with a special event after a significant renovation period. On Tuesday, October 29th, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the lodge will host a concert featuring the Cielo Trio, marking the first public gathering since its refurbishment.

The Indian Lodge, a beloved feature of Texas’ state park offerings, has undergone comprehensive updates to enhance guest experiences while maintaining its historical integrity. The renovations, funded by public investments totaling approximately $3,524,000, include new windows, pergolas, upgraded guest room doors, and improved accessibility features such as a revamped pool area and newly constructed paths and parking spaces designed to accommodate all visitors.

The upcoming Cielo Trio concert will offer guests a chance to experience the renovated lodge’s rustic charm paired with modern amenities. The trio, known for their classical music expertise, will perform a variety of classical pieces in the lodge’s newly refurbished lobby. Light refreshments will be available, adding to the evening’s ambiance. This event is free, although seats are limited and registration is required to secure attendance. Interested parties can register through the event listing on the park’s website or via the provided registration link.

Event coordination is overseen by Charlie Ewing, who is available for further inquiries at charles.ewing@tpwd.texas.govor at (432) 426-3337, extension 2123. Although the full official reopening date for Indian Lodge has not been announced, this concert provides a rare glimpse into the improvements made to the lobby and select areas of the lodge.

Indian Lodge is located at Texas Hwy 118 N, Park Road 3, Fort Davis, TX 79734. It offers 39 rooms, a swimming pool, and the Black Bear Restaurant, which serves breakfast and lunch.
