Downtown Waxahachie is set to host the annual Crossroads of Texas Country Festival, a vibrant showcase of arts, music, and local culture, on October 26, 2024. The festival, free to the public, will run from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM around the historic courthouse square, where attendees can enjoy a day filled with excitement and Texas charm.
This year’s festival is expected to be larger than ever with over 200 booths featuring artists, craftspeople, and a selection of festival foods from across Texas and beyond. Organizers have confirmed that more than 10 stages will be set up throughout downtown restaurants, breweries, and wine bars, in addition to the main stage, ensuring a day full of musical diversity.
Highlighting the event is the performance by ten-time Grammy award winner Asleep at the Wheel, led by Ray Benson. Known for their Western swing music, the band has been a major influence in the genre and has collaborated with notable artists such as Willie Nelson and George Strait. Asleep at the Wheel is scheduled to perform on the Crossroads Main Stage from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
The festival also includes the “GO TEXAN Experience,” featuring a marketplace of GO TEXAN vendors, local wineries like Hidden Hangar Vineyard and Red Road Winery, and businesses such as Southern Roots Brewing and Boyce Feed & Grain. This area offers a chance to sample and shop from over 50 GO TEXAN brands.
For younger attendees, the Crossroads Kid’s Corner will be full of activities including inflatable attractions and face painting, and the Pet-tober Fest area will provide pet portraits and other animal-focused entertainment.
Live music will also resonate from various corners of downtown Waxahachie. The CBS Texas Theater Stage will feature artists from the Fort Worth Library’s Amplify 817 program, including performances by Lorena Leigh and Kendi Jean, adding a local flavor to the festival’s lineup.
In addition to music and art, food lovers will have plenty to choose from. The Best of Texas Food Court will host vendors such as Cousins Maine Lobster, Fire House Mac It Up, and many more, providing a taste of Texas’ culinary diversity.
The Crossroads of Texas Country Festival not only celebrates the rich cultural tapestry of Texas but also supports the local community by bringing together artists, businesses, and attendees in a festive and engaging environment.
