El Paso County is holding its second annual Gun Buyback Event on Saturday, September 21st, offering a chance for residents to safely dispose of unwanted firearms. The event will take place at the El Paso County Coliseum from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and is entirely anonymous, with no questions asked and no identification required.
Participants will receive prepaid Mastercard gift cards in exchange for their firearms. The buyback rates are set at $50 for non-functioning firearms, $100 for rifles and shotguns, $150 for handguns, and $200 for assault rifles. There is a limit of 10 firearms per vehicle, and ghost guns will not be accepted at this drive-up event.
This initiative provides a way for individuals to contribute to community safety by removing unwanted or unused firearms from circulation. For more information about the event, interested parties can call (915) 546-2014 or email Commissioner1@epcounty.com.
