Brownwood Hosts Inaugural Event to Celebrate New Event Center

The City of Brownwood will hold its inaugural public event today, June 15, to celebrate the grand opening of the Brownwood Event Center Complex, located at 601 E. Baker Street. The event, which runs from 3 PM to 9 PM, offers a chance for the community to tour the state-of-the-art facility and enjoy an array of festivities.

The Brownwood Event Center Grand Opening Preview will feature a variety of food trucks, family activities, and live music, showcasing the capabilities of the new complex. “We are excited to open the new Brownwood Event Center Complex to the public during our inaugural event,” said Brownwood Mayor Stephen Haynes. “We invite the public to be the first to enjoy this wonderful new facility that will benefit the citizens of Brownwood for generations to come.”

The event kicks off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 2:30 PM, led by Mayor Haynes and the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce. Attendees will then have the opportunity to tour the new facility, with the Ice House open for tours from 3 PM to 4 PM and the Brownwood Event Center available for viewing from 3 PM to 6 PM.

Food trucks will be on site from 3 PM to 9 PM, offering a variety of delicious options. Live music will be performed on the main stage throughout the evening, with picnic seating available on Reunion Lawn. The lineup includes local favorites Cadillac Thieves, The Remedy, Throttleneck Tx, McKenna Kosowski, and Callahan Divide.

Family activities and outdoor games will keep everyone entertained from 3 PM to 6 PM. Additionally, the Lehnis Railroad Museum & Visitor Center will extend its hours, offering free admission and complimentary mini train rides until 5 PM.
