Chief Victorian, a native Texan with a commendable 28-year tenure at the Houston Police Department before her current role, will recount her experiences and the challenges she overcame on her path to leadership. Since being sworn in as Waco’s Police Chief in March 2021, she has become a symbol of progress and resilience in law enforcement. The webinar is a unique opportunity for attendees to hear Chief Victorian’s story, from being named “Rookie of the Year” to leading a major police department, and to engage directly with her during a Q&A session.
This event is organized by the 30×30 Initiative, a coalition aimed at increasing the recruitment, retention, and representation of women in all ranks of policing. With a goal to ensure that women constitute 30% of recruit classes by 2030, the initiative has garnered the support of hundreds of policing agencies across the spectrum, from federal to local levels. The 30×30 Initiative is supported by key partners including the Policing Project at NYU School of Law and the National Association of Women Law Enforcement Executives (NAWLEE), among others.
The webinar reflects the initiative’s commitment to leadership, mentorship, and open dialogue, offering an “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) session with Chief Victorian.
