Sunglasses and Southern Comfort: Union Hall Waco Welcomes Two Unique Vendors, Adding Flavor and Flair

Union Hall Waco, a popular dining and entertainment hub at 720 Franklin Ave, is expanding its array of offerings. UnionBrands Eateries Texas, LLC announced the welcoming of two new vendors to its bustling venue, furthering its commitment to diversity and innovation.

Cool Cat Shades will be the first non-food vendor to take station at Union Hall Waco in over four years. Occupying station 10, the trendy establishment is set to offer more than 200 styles of affordable, high-quality sunglasses. Owner/operator Dana Bartels, a Waco native and Baylor University alumna, brings her unique experiences from 15 years in Hawaii, where she ran Kool Shades of Kona. Her return to Waco in 2019 led her to Union Hall, where she aims to offer superior customer service and interact with people from all walks of life. Her enthusiasm for downtown and Union Hall is palpable: “Being able to chat with folks from all over Waco, other parts of Texas, and even the Country, all while showing them sunglass styles they may not have seen or tried before.”

Joining Cool Cat Shades will be Mac’s Fry House, set to take station 22, bringing its famous crispy fried chicken tenders and southern collard greens from the food truck into Union Hall. Mini funnel cakes will also be on offer for those with a sweet tooth. Owned and operated by Tasmin and Larry McDonald, North Carolina natives who arrived in Waco via College Station, Mac’s Fry House was founded in 2022 as a local food truck and catering business. The McDonalds view their transition into Union Hall as a natural progression that aligns with their values of unparalleled southern hospitality and cooking.

Union Hall Waco continues to evolve, not just with new vendors, but also through updated services and appearances. Recent enhancements include the addition of fountain drink stations, reinvented restrooms, increased access points, and repurposed available stations for future vendors. Since its establishment in 2019, Union Hall Waco has maintained an impressive average vendor occupancy rate of 90% with 26 stations, a testament to its popularity and continued relevance in the community.

These new additions reflect UnionBrands Eateries Texas, LLC’s ongoing commitment to offer diverse dining options that cater to family, friends, food, and fun, all under one roof. The new vendors should be ready to greet customers within 30-45 days, pending onboarding and training. The unique blend of stylish eyewear and delicious southern comfort food promises to add even more flavor and flair to an already vibrant venue.
